Brandon Passer Victorious in The Car Guy 75 at Sunset Speedway

INNISFIL, Ontario — The Ontario Outlaw Super Late Model season kicked off on a high note, with a dominating performance by a generational racer.
Passer kicked off the night by laying down a lap of 14.082 seconds to win the Fox’s Bakery and Deli Pole Award, and got lucky with the re-draw following qualifying by pulling a two. Starting on the outside of the front row, he led the first seven laps, before fading back a couple spots to fourth.
A caution at Lap 25 for a spin would be the perfect reset, as Passer was able to get a good jump, taking back the lead a couple laps later. He then paced the rest of the laps to win the season opening The Car Guy 75 at Sunset Speedway.
Glenn Watson consistently ran up front throughout inside the top-three, pacing 16 laps on his own accord, en route to a runner-up finish. Dwayne Baker made his way forward to third, while Chase Wilson rebounded from a spin on the backstretch for fourth. Jay Polumbo completed the top-five.
Roy Passer came back from a spin on the frontstretch for sixth in front of Dario Capirchio, Brad Pearsall, Dustyn Mombourquette, and Adrian Foster.
Miller was 11th, with J.R. Fitzpatrick in 12th. Fitzpatrick was an early contender for the race win inside the top-five, but mechanical issues saw his race come to an end on Lap 24.
Brandon Passer and Dustyn Mombourquette were both rewarded for their efforts, both taking home a prize courtesy of Gulf Race Fuel.
The Ontario Outlaw Super Late Models are back in action this Saturday, June 14 with their first trip of the season to Flamboro Speedway.
